WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) held a telephone town hall to discuss ongoing efforts to help get New Jerseyans back to work as our state recovers from the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The town hall comes one year after the Congressman's first telephone town hall on helping small businesses and working families hurt by the pandemic.

"One year ago, I promised you that I would make sure that while small businesses might be the first to feel the economic pain from the pandemic, they won't be the last to feel the recovery. I'm proud to have led efforts in Congress to make sure our small businesses and the working families they employ have been strongly supported and will continue to be until this crisis is over," said Congressman Kim. "As we enter a post-COVID world, it's important we keep our efforts going. We've seen how important our small businesses are to our communities, and I'll keep fighting to get them the resources they need to grow and thrive."

Congressman Kim was joined by Anna Payanzo Cotton, Vice President of the Workforce Development Institute of Rowan College at Burlington County, who discussed career training and placement programs in New Jersey.

Issues brought up by residents from Burlington and Ocean Counties include: what more can be done to support small businesses through the coming months, programs that are available to help working parents make ends meet, and how veterans can access job training programs.

The town hall comes as efforts through the American Rescue Plan, passed by Congressman Kim, continue to support small businesses and job creators in order to get Americans back to work. Congressman Kim also provided an update on efforts in Congress to pass an infrastructure and jobs bill that would bring much needed investments in New Jersey's roads, bridges, rail and 21st century infrastructure like broadband internet, and would create good-paying jobs in the process.

Congressman Kim is the only member from New Jersey on the House Committee on Small Business and is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website by clicking here.
