Congressman Cohen Announces $1.4 Million in Department of Justice Grants

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today announced two grants from the Department of Justice totaling $1,405,946. The first, for $1,005,962, for Shelby County, is from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Program. The second, to Casa Luz, is for $399,984.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am pleased to see the Department of Justice making these significant investments in Memphis, especially given the recent  high-profile crimes.”

Congressman Cohen announced several Department of Justice grants last week totaling $5,642,703, including one to address the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s rape kit backlog.
