U.S. Representative David Kustoff (TN-08), released the following statement regarding the passing of Eliza Fletcher:
"Roberta and I are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Eliza Fletcher of Shelby County. Liza was a junior kindergarten teacher at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, an avid runner, and a mother of two beautiful, young children. She was full of life and touched the hearts of so many people throughout her life. Liza was dedicated to her children, her family, her school, and her community.
Thank you to the brave men and women of the Memphis Police Department, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, TBI, FBI, and all of the law enforcement agencies and first responders for their tireless work. Our hearts are heavy this morning.
While our community heals, we will never forget Liza’s life, spirit and vitality. Please join us is in praying for Liza’s husband Richie, her two children, her parents, and her entire family during this difficult time."
