Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement on his vote against a series of Democrat-led law enforcement bills:

“This is just the Democrats’ attempt to distance themselves from their disastrous anti-police agenda. None of these bills address the root causes of the violent crime spike we’ve seen across the country, which stems from liberal soft-on-crime policies and the radical Defund the Police movement.”

Rep. Burchett is a co-sponsor of the JUSTICE Act, which will provide funding for better law enforcement training and increase the number of body cameras for police officers.

Additionally, earlier this week, Rep. Burchett released his latest podcast episode with Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler to discuss issues currently facing law enforcement.
