Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted against the continuing resolution that would temporarily fund the federal government through December 16. Following his vote, Rep. Burchett released the following statement:
“I refuse to support yet another short-term funding bill to cover our federal government's incompetence. The House of Representatives holds the 'power of the purse' for the entire country, and we need to take that authority seriously. That starts by passing a responsible appropriations package on time instead of a frantic last-minute stopgap bill.”
