WASHINGTON, DC -- Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) just voted to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and voted to advance for later passage the Build Back Better Act in order to transform America's economy and create millions of new good-paying jobs.

"Today's votes are a culmination of years of work to pass meaningful, job creating, economy boosting, transformational legislation that will help every American," said Congressman Kim. "By advancing these two bills, we're getting Americans back to work, lowering the costs of prescription drugs, and investing in our infrastructure, but ultimately, we are investing in working families. I am proud to be sending the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to the President's desk, and I look forward to passing the Build Back Better Act as soon as possible."

A full fact sheet for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act can be found by clickinghere.

The Build Back Better Act will deliver once-in-a-generation initiatives to create millions of good-paying jobs, dramatically decrease healthcare costs, including prescription drugs, and make the largest investments to combat the climate crisis in history by reducing greenhouse gasemissions and investing in clean energy.

The Build Back Better Act also includes Congressman Kim's Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act, which would limit prescription drug costs for seniors by, for the first time ever, creating a $2,000 per year out-of-pocket maximum for Americans on Medicare.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which has already passed the Senate and will now be sent to the President's desk to be signed into law, will create more than 2 million jobs a year by rebuilding America's infrastructure and expanding access to broadband Internet with a focus on climate change mitigation and stormweather resilience. This legislation includes Congressman Kim's Resilient Highways Act, which will help communities strengthen their local infrastructure against the increased risks of extreme storms and flooding.

Congressman Kim is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website by clicking here.
