Washington, D.C. — Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. voted for a bill today to save federal money and protect the environment through energy-efficient light bulbs. The bill, the Bulb Replacement Improving Government with High-Efficiency Technology (or BRIGHT) Act (S. 442) would make sure all federal buildings are equipped with the longest-lasting, most energy-efficient, and most cost-effective lighting systems available.
“President Biden has made efforts to combat climate change a major priority in his administration and this bill is a great example of it,” said Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. “From now on, federal buildings will save money and the environment through energy-efficient light bulbs. This bill accelerates the President’s long-term goals to protect the environment and put the nation on a more energy-efficient path.”
