Washington, D.C. — Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr., voted for a bill today that reauthorizes funding for the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. The bill, S.3895, helps our leaders utilize every resource available to investigate violations made against religious minorities around the world and ensures that individual religious freedoms are respected by all.
“Each person has the fundamental right to practice the religion of their choice, freely and fairly without fear of death, intimidation or abuse” said Rep. Payne, Jr. “I believe that religious freedoms should be protected by any means necessary. This reauthorization helps create a safer, more inclusive, and diverse world. I will continue to take every opportunity I can to empower religious minorities and promote their ability to gather and worship safely and freely.”
