Drazan, like Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett, would ban abortion if given the chance

[Medford, OR] – During their confirmation processes, Trump-nominated Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett used a memorable dodge to mislead the public when asked about their positions on Roe v. Wade – they both claimed they would “follow the law.”

But after they were confirmed, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett both voted to overturn Roe, and now 17 states have an abortion ban in effect, taking abortion access away from one in three American women.

In Oregon, anti-abortion gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan is using the same dodge to mislead voters when asked about her platform on reproductive rights.

In advance of tonight’s KOBI debate in Medford, the Tina for Oregon campaign launched a new digital ad highlighting video clips of Drazan, Coney Barrett, and Kavanaugh all using the same talking points to hide their real agenda: banning abortion.

Below is the transcript of “Familiar”:

[Narrator]: Christine Drazan won’t answer questions about her plan to ban abortion in Oregon.

All she says is:

[Christine Drazan]: I will uphold the law.

[Narrator]: Sound familiar?

[Amy Coney Barrett]: For any issue that comes up, abortion or anything else, I’ll follow the law.

[Brett Kavanaugh]: One of the important things to keep in mind about Roe v. Wade is that it has been reaffirmed many times.

[Narrator]: Just like Donald Trump’s Supreme Court judges, Christine Drazan is hiding her real agenda: banning abortion.
