PARAMUS, NJ — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) welcomed visitors to the Bergen County Zoo and helped the Van Saun RailRoad/Safari Express Train conductors as a part of his “Josh on the Job” tour across the Fifth District — to promote local tourism in North Jersey.
Gottheimer also toured the zoo and spoke with employees to discuss steps to ensure North Jersey can grow and thrive. Gottheimer was also joined by Zoo Director Marianne Vella.
The Bergen County Zoo, which opened in 1960, exhibits wildlife from North and South America, including species like Baird’s Tapirs, Andean Condors, American Alligators, Golden Lion Tamarins, South American Pampas, and many others.
