BURLINGTON CITY, N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that Bible-Way Apostolic Missions in Burlington City is receiving $300,000 in federal grant money to increase security at the church and rectory buildings.

“I’m proud to have been able to help Bible-Way and Pastor Thompson get this grant to help keep their church and congregation safe,” said Congressman Kim. “My favorite part of this job doesn’t happen down in Washington, it happens here at home - being out in the community, hearing directly from constituents at each of my monthly town halls, and working hard to deliver tangible results. I’m confident these security upgrades will be impactful for Pastor Thompson, the Bible-Way community, and Burlington City more broadly.”

“I would like to thank Congressman Kim for the help he provided to our church when we were developing this grant,” said Bible-Way’s Pastor Albert Thompson. “By participating in the webinar his office hosted, I was able to make my application much stronger and really got a chance to learn what was most important to include. This funding will allow our church to proactively take steps to increase our security which will benefit our congregants as well as the community members we serve through our various outreach ministries. It was a pleasure working with Congressman Kim and his office and I’m grateful for their help.”

The Department of Homeland Security FY2022 Nonprofit Security Grant Program awarded Bible-Way with $300,000 to upgrade and secure doors and windows with new security systems, and will help them upgrade their generator system in case of cut off or lost power. Bible-Way provides many services to the community including a food pantry and soup kitchen for the homeless.

Congressman Kim was proud to work with the Bible-Way Apostolic Missions to help support their pursuit of this federal grant.
