Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) issued the following statement after joining the Bipartisan Wildfire Caucus which works to increase awareness and bipartisan consensus around wildfire management and mitigation, and wildfire preparedness and recovery.

“I am proud to join the Bipartisan Wildfire Caucus to support the important work of mitigating wildfires and promoting effective forest management. With the threat of wildfires as prevalent as ever, we must find commonsense solutions to protect the communities threatened by these fires and the firefighters who risk their lives to fight them. Last month, I introduced ‘Tim’s Act’ to recognize the needs of the brave wildland firefighters, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to offer similar comprehensive solutions to prevent and combat wildfires.”
