Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) will hold a town meeting in Adair County on Wednesday, September 1. This will mark his 99th county meeting in Iowa for the 41st consecutive year as part of his annual 99 county meetings.

“Representative Government is a two-way street. It can’t work without dialogue between elected officials and the people we represent,” Grassley said. “Over the last few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with Iowans all over the state including at small businesses, schools and community organizations. I appreciate the opportunity to hold open town meetings, answer questions and take comments from Iowans.”

This is Grassley’s 41st year of holding meetings in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. Grassley has held at least one meeting in every county, every year since he was first elected to serve in the U.S. Senate. He takes and answers questions on any subject raised. Iowans set the agenda.

Throughout August, Grassley has participated in Q&As in Grundy, Hardin, Butler, Dubuque, Polk, Marion, Mahaska, Keokuk, Lee, Des Moines, Henry and Louisa counties.

Grassley will be available for 15 minutes after the meeting to answer questions from local reporters. This town meeting is open to the public and media. Details for the upcoming meetings follow.
