John Gibbs, a candidate for Congress in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, released a statement regarding a September 21 CNN article about a blog post Gibbs wrote as a provocation while attending Stanford University.

“As a college student twenty-two years ago, and a black conservative on a liberal campus, I made a website to provoke the left on campus and to draw attention to the hypocrisy of some modern-day feminists. It was nothing more than a college kid being over the top to get a reaction,” said Gibbs.

“Of course, I believe that women should vote and work.  My own mother worked for thirty-three years for the Michigan Department of Transportation, and it was her hard work and love that allowed me to be the first in my family to graduate from college,” said Gibbs. “Lets call a spade a spade.  This is just another attempt by the Democrat’s political arm, CNN to smear a black republican because my beliefs don’t align with their agenda.”

Gibbs will continue to focus on what matters most to voters, inflation and rising interest rates, border insecurity, and putting an end to Nancy Pelosi’s and the Democrats reign in Congress, which is undermining the nation every minute.
