Today, Rep. María Elvira Salazar (FL-27) hosted Coral Gables residents and community leaders in her office for a roundtable discussion. Topics included community concerns and expanding the city's partnership with the federal government.
"Coral Gables is one of the most beautiful parts of Florida's 27th District, and I couldn't be prouder to represent it," said Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar. "I'm excited about the community's future, which is exactly why I welcome all the feedback and ideas from residents and community leaders on how we can ensure it remains such a great place to live."
Since coming to Congress, Rep. Salazar has worked on several projects directly benefitting the City of Coral Gables. In 2021, she submitted a $1.4 million infrastructure project request to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for the city to purchase new trolleys. This year, she submitted a $900,000 Community Funding Project Request for the University of Miami's expansion of its aquaculture campus.
Attendees included the City of Coral Gables Mayor, Vice Mayor, Chief of Police, three Commissioners, and other community stakeholders.
