Yesterday, the representative María Elvira Salazar received Isabel Guzmán, administrator of the Small Business Administration ( SBA, in Miami, for its acronym in English ) from the United States, to meet with voters, listen to the concerns of local entrepreneurs, tour small businesses on FL-27, and discuss solutions to grow our economy.

Today's visit solidified a strong relationship between my office and the SBA, And I look forward to working together to ensure that Miami's small businesses can access the resources they need to prosper ”.

The Administrator's visit began with a productive round table with small business owners in Congresswoman Salazar's District at Miami-Dade College. The round table focused on how the federal government can better serve the needs and interests of small business owners and employees throughout South Florida. After the round table, Congresswoman Salazar took Administrator Guzmán on a walking tour of Calle Ocho, in Little Havana. They made a stop at Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina, where they met with the owner and greeted customers.
Representative Salazar is a member of the Small Business Recruitment and Infrastructure Subcommittee of the House of Representatives. In this position, he presented the H.R. 3065, Small Business Recruitment Opportunity Expansion Act, to increase the size of contracts available to disadvantaged federal contractors. This legislation was passed by the US House of Representatives. USA in September 2021. He also co-directed the PRICE Law to encourage federal agencies to collaborate more and encourage small business participation in the federal procurement process. The legislation was enacted by the President in February 2022. In addition, the representative Salazar presented the H.R. 1533, COVID Economic Damage Loan Relief Act ( EEDIL ), which extended EIDL loan repayments to small business owners for an additional year due to the pandemic. This policy was implemented by the Biden Administration in March 2021.
Finally, the Salazar representative attends to local voters directly through her Prosperity Center, the first of its kind among the offices of Congress.
