Today, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27) issued the following statement regarding her vote yesterday against Speaker Pelosi’s tax-and-spending spree:
“Instead of proposing a clean bill to fund our government, provide disaster relief for storm-stricken states, and give assistance to our Afghan allies, Speaker Pelosi decided to demand a blank check for a reckless tax-and-spending spree.
I will not support legislation that will help the left spend America’s way into socialism, and that is precisely what raising the debt limit will do. If Washington liberals want to jam their radical, left-wing pipedreams through Congress, they will have to go it alone.”
