During a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27) questioned the Biden Administration's US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield, on U.S. policy towards Latin America.

Video of Salazar's remarks can be found HERE and a list of Congresswoman Salazar's questions can be found below:

On Vaccines:

"The Biden Administration recently announced they are donating 500 million vaccines.

"I would like everyone everywhere in the world understands that these vaccines were paid by our taxpayers. Would you like that too?

"When we provide vaccines through the United Nations, they often get distributed by third parties. Should we ensure the American Flag is on all the vaccines we distribute like the Russians and Chinese do?"

On Nicaragua

"Daniel Ortega has jailed 4 Presidential Candidates. Clearly he has declared himself a dictator.

"Clearly he is not afraid of our economic sanctions.

"Clearly he is in the business of power.

"How much effort and time will you dedicate at the U.N to denounce Ortega’s and rally international support to isolate him?"

On Israel

"Let's talk a little bit about Israel.

"As Congresswoman Malliotakis was saying, the Human Rights Council, which most people do not understand, is the body within the United Nations that promotes human rights around the world.

"It has Cuba, Venezuela, China, and Russia.

"That's a farce. That's a joke.

"Cuba chops off the hands of dissidents. I have a couple of those in my district.

"China is killing the Uyghurs for being Muslims.

"Russia is poisonings and assassinating their political opponents.

"And Venezuela, at this hour, 20 years later, weighs 15 pounds less for their lack of food. And they have the largest reserves of oil in the world.

"That goes to prove that socialism and communism don't work. Like I said, it's a farce.

"And at this moment, these countries have the gall to criticize Israel for defending itself. I want to see how you feel about it."

Congresswoman Salazar represents Florida's beautiful 27th Congressional district which includes most of the City of Miami, its suburbs, and the beaches. She currently serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and is the only woman on the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, where she leads as the Vice-Ranking Member.
