DENVER ⁠⁠— Today, ballots are being sent out to voters across Colorado. And after a weekend of successful campaign events across Colorado, Michael Bennet’s campaign is more energized than ever for the final weeks of this election.

At a grassroots event in Teller County on Sunday afternoon – which has about 19,000 registered voters, only 13% of whom are registered Democrats – Michael drew a crowd of more than 250 people. At the event, Michael spoke about Democratic accomplishments in the last year, and the importance of building an economy that works for everyone.

“The richest country in the world should not tolerate the fact that we have the third highest child poverty rate in the industrialized world,” Michael told the crowd at the Teller County event. “Last year, when we put my expanded Child Tax Credit in place, and we cut childhood poverty in America almost in half, and reduced hunger by almost 25%. I want to go back to the Senate so we can make that expanded Child Tax Credit permanent.”

At the Colorado Black Women for Political Action Luncheon on Saturday, Michael spoke about the importance of protecting a woman’s right to choose, protecting the right to vote, and his efforts to end child poverty in America.

Michael kicked off his Sunday with the Park County Democrats for a “Like-Minded Unite” event. Michael stumped for State Representative Julie McCluskie and expressed the importance of turning out the vote everywhere in Colorado.

After Fairplay, Michael traveled to Buena Vista where he spoke with Chaffee County voters. During the event, he continued to hammer home his message of building an economy that works for everyone and urged supporters to get involved in get-out-the-vote efforts

After an energizing weekend full of campaign events that drew large crowds, Michael and his team look forward to engaging with voters at events between now and November 8.
