Denver, CO — Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate Joe O'Dea and his wife, Celeste, released the following statement celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
"This Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite you all to come together to celebrate Colorado’s Hispanic and Latino community. America is a nation of immigrants. And Colorado’s history is Hispanic and Latino history. It’s our heritage.
"From working in Pueblo steel mills to leading the fight in Denver for justice during the Chicano Movement. To working hard in Colorado’s oil and gas and agriculture industries. To being business owners, teachers, military service members, health care providers, law enforcement officers and so much more. The Hispanic and Latino community moves our state forward.
"We are also proud of the company that we started from our basement. Today, over 80% of CEI’s workers are Hispanic and Latino. For the last twenty years we've been honored to work with and learn from them every day. They’re our family.
"Through food, music, traditions, and art, Hispanic and Latino Coloradans enrich our state. We would also like to wish a happy Independence Day today to Coloradans from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Honduras. On behalf of all of us at Joe’s Crew, happy Hispanic Heritage Month!"
