Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate Joe O'Dea issued the following statement in response to Michael Bennet's photo-op political stunt with President Joe Biden today.

"Camp Hale is an amazing place. Joe Biden and Michael Bennet's record on inflation, border security, and crime are something much less than amazing," said Joe O'Dea. "Biden and Bennet are moving the country badly in the wrong direction, and no amount of photo-ops in a place we all love will change this fact: accountability from the voters is coming soon."

"Camp Hale is a national treasure. Everyone knows that. But this idea that Biden’s designation means anything on the ground is a total joke," said former State Representative Gregg Rippy from Glenwood Springs. "The place has been protected for generations. There aren’t condos or a ski resort coming in to Camp Hale because federal rules already prohibit that. Joe Biden’s visit is about one thing and one thing only — trying to make our do-nothing Senator look good, and trying to distract voters from skyrocketing inflation, crime, and a collapsing stock market on his watch."

Michael Bennet said “he didn’t need” Biden to come here for him. Bennet has been reluctant to welcome Biden to Colorado to help him with his reelection bid. Back in August,Bennet saidBiden “doesn’t need to come here.”

“I don’t need him to come here,”Bennet said.“I think we’re going to do just fine.”
