Today, Maria Elvira Salazar released the following statement after her victory in the Primaries for Florida District 27 in Congress.
“ In just one generation, my family went from fleeing communist Cuba to representing thousands of other exiles in Congress – something that is only possible here in the United States ”, Representative Salazar said. “ The American dream is achievable, but must be protected. Our community is one of the most diverse in the country, most of us are related to exiles from all over the world. Families today are struggling with many of the same problems we ran away from: record inflation, increased crime in our communities and jobs that don't pay bills. I am ready to continue the fight against the destructive policies that have brought us here and that endanger American exceptionalism ”.
Salazar's re-election has been endorsed by Governor Nikki Haley, a former ambassador to the United Nations; Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State and former CIA director, in addition to current US Senator Tim Scott and the National Association of Police Organizations ( PNWA ).
