In the two days since the Des Moines Register released new polling by “gold standard” pollster Ann Selzer showing Franken and Grassley just 3 points apart in the Iowa Senate race, Franken’s campaign has raised more than $200,000.
The large weekend fundraising haul was fueled by donations from nearly 4,200 donors, with an average donation of just $45.
“This campaign has all the momentum in the home stretch of the Iowa Senate race, and it’s because of the strong and effective campaign Michael Franken is running,” said C.J. Petersen, Franken for Iowa communications director. “It’s time for a change. Iowans trust Michael Franken to fight for them, their communities and their values in the U.S. Senate.”
