New River Valley Communities Awarded Nearly $1.5 Million By U.S. Department Of Housing And Urban Development

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded a total of $1,494,810 in funding to the Towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg and the City of Radford. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Today’s award of nearly $1.5 million by HUD to Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Radford will assist local governments as they provide public services. These funds will help meet the needs of residents in the New River Valley.”

Awards included:

  • $534,673 in Community Development Block Grant funding and $651,299 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding to the Town of Blacksburg;
  • $125,664 in Community Development Block Grant funding to the Town of Christiansburg; and
  • $183,174 in Community Development Block Grant funding to the City of Radford.
