Federal Government Awards $1,441,292 Workforce Opportunity For Rural Communities Grant To New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Area Consortium

The U.S. Department of Labor and the Appalachian Regional Commission have awarded a $1,441,292 grant to New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Area Consortium through the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities grant program. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Education and skills training for workers offer the opportunity for rural residents to earn higher wages and for communities to attract new employers. The $1,441,292 Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities grant to New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Area Consortium will help promote the prospects of workers and employers in our region.”
