Federal Government Awards $1,378,568 Workforce Opportunity For Rural Communities Grant To Southwest Virginia Community College

The U.S. Department of Labor and the Appalachian Regional Commission have awarded a $1,378,568 grant to Southwest Virginia Community College through the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities grant program. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Education and skills training for workers offer the opportunity for rural residents to earn higher wages and for communities to attract new employers. The $1,378,568 Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities grant to Southwest Virginia Community College will help promote the prospects of workers and employers in our region.”
