AUSTIN – Today, Texans For Greg Abbott released its first statewide radio ad of the general election cycle entitled, “Cecilia.” The ad features First Lady Cecilia Abbott discussing how her husband, Governor Greg Abbott, responded to his life changing accident, his hard work and determination, and his love for his daughter, Audrey.

FIRST LADY CECILIA ABBOTT: “This is Cecilia Abbott. Greg Abbott is my husband and our governor. Greg and I met at the University of Texas. We married soon after. I came to know what Greg Abbott was really made of when I saw how he responded to his accident. At just 26, a massive tree fell on him, paralyzing Greg for life. His recovery took months, but Greg never gave up. He often says ‘challenges don’t define our lives. Instead, it’s how we respond to those challenges that defines us.’ Greg and I have known triumph as well. The joys of our marriage and adopting our daughter Audrey have shown me the depths of his love and commitment. Greg and Audrey have a great relationship. He’s taught her how to deal with the trials of life. Hard work, perseverance and family: those values define Greg Abbott, and they guide him every day as Governor of Texas.”
