Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following statement on the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in Sackett v. EPA. Hinson signed onto an amicus brief in support of the Sackett family in their case against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
"Washington bureaucrats who have never stepped foot on a farm want to regulate puddles and streams on farmland -- for them, it's about control, not about legitimate clean water solutions. Farmers are the best stewards of their own land, not the federal government. I am hopeful the Supreme Court will end federal overreaches on family farms and provide certainty to Iowa's farmers and landowners who are already working to preserve clean water for future generations."
