Law Enforcement officers are making their voices heard in the race for governor as crime continues to sky-rocket
Albuquerque, NM — Today at a press conference, while surrounded by current and active law enforcement officers, Mark Ronchetti for Governor announced that the New Mexico Fraternal Order of Police and Albuquerque Police Officers Association have endorsed Mark Ronchetti to be the next Governor of New Mexico.
“The New Mexico Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse a candidate who calls for law and order across our great State of New Mexico, and at the same time, protecting our law enforcement officers,” said Robert Parra, NMFOP State President, in a letter to Ronchetti for Governor.
“I am honored and humbled to be endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police in this race,” commented Ronchetti. “We are at a crossroads in the state of New Mexico. We are the second most violent state in the nation, and violent criminals are being let out the door as soon as they are arrested, oftentimes by judges this governor has appointed. If they did end up in prison, they were likely to benefit from this governor’s early release order and ultra-liberal parole board. We can either stay on the path we are on, one of failed leadership by Michelle Lujan Grisham, or we can chart a new course, where our police are supported and our streets become safer for our residents again. With this endorsement, I swear to always work to support our men and women in uniform so that they can do the same for our communities.”
During the press conference Ronchetti also announced the Endorsement of the Albuquerque Police Officers Association. In a written statement, Shaun Willoughby, President of the Albuquerque Police Officers Association said, “Mark is the candidate that our police officers trust to have their backs when they are putting their lives on the line every day. We take our endorsements very seriously and we are proud to endorse Mark to be our next governor.”
“Having the endorsement of the men and women who put on the uniform every day to defend our communities in Albuquerque is the highest honor, and I swear that I will work to support them and their departments every day that I am in office,” said Ronchetti, upon accepting the endorsement.
“At a time when crime is skyrocketing and New Mexico is ranked as the 2nd most violent state in the country, the impact of police organizations making their voices heard in the race for governor is just the latest sign that it is time for change in the executive branch,” commented Jeff Glassburner, Ronchetti’s campaign manager.
