Grassley Statement On Incident At U.S. Capitol

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today issued the following statement regarding the incident at the U.S. Capitol today the claimed the life of one U.S. Capitol Police officer and injured another:

 

“I take very personally the death of a Capitol Police officer. The United States Capitol Police work tirelessly to protect the U.S. Capitol and the people in and around it. I’m praying for the family and friends of Officer Billy Evans and for the entire Capitol Police force. Law enforcement deserves our full support as they risk their lives daily to keep the peace.”
