Today, Congressman O’Halleran (AZ-01) applauded recent announcements from the U.S. Department of Justice of over $4.8 million through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) for Arizona’s First Congressional District’s cities, counties, and school districts. These awards will fund a variety of community policing programs in Arizona, including hiring, community policing development, and preventing school violence.

“As a former law enforcement officer, I am pleased to see funds that support law enforcement reach our district to help promote public safety” said O’Halleran. “Throughout my time in Congress, I have been a proud supporter of our law enforcement and have backed legislation that addresses the needs of officers and small rural and tribal police departments.”
