"Yesterday's news from Texas is gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. My heart is with the students, families, and entire community of Robb Elementary. No child or educator should feel unsafe in their classroom and no parent should fear their child's safety when they drop them off at school in the morning. Our thoughts and prayers are not enough. We are not powerless to do something about this. We must stand with those in Uvalde and act now to pass common-sense gun safety reform. This is long overdue and will save the lives of countless Americans who die every single day as a result of senseless gun violence."
