PATCHOGUE, NY - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) congratulated Lawrence Chai of Mount Sinai for being selected and playing the viola in the 2022 National Youth Orchestra of the United States (NYO-USA). Each summer, Carnegie Hall brings together young instrumentalists from across the country to form three music ensembles, including the NYO-USA for talented musicians between the ages of 16 and 19. This year the ensembles met at Purchase College SUNY for training led by a faculty of professional musicians and NYO-USA embarked on a tour of Europe following their training.

I want to congratulate Lawrence Chai from Mt. Sinai, New York, on being selected to participate in the National Youth Orchestra of the United States. Each year NYO-USA selects the most talented young musicians from across our country to participate in their program and I wish Lawrence all the best as he pursues what is sure to be an exceptionally bright future,” said Congressman Zeldin.
