BOSTON, Mass. – Hon. Scott Brown, former United States Senator and Ambassador to New Zealand, announced today that he is officially endorsing Geoff Diehl for Governor of Massachusetts.
“I’ve known Geoff Diehl for 15 years. Geoff is a good man, and he’s a hard worker. When he gives you his word, it’s gold,” Brown said in a video announcing his endorsement. “Geoff is the person you need right now on Beacon Hill to rein in the spending, rein in the out-of-control policies and laws that are being pushed by the Democrats up there. I mean, it’s upside-down.”
In the endorsement video, Brown reminds people of his legendary come-from-behind win for U.S. Senate in 2010, a victory that Diehl has referred to repeatedly in his own campaign. “Remember back in 2010, when I was down 41 points, then 21 points, then 11 points, and we ended up winning by 7? Not only did we shock the Democrats in Massachusetts, we really shocked the nation, and created a check and balance that was badly, badly needed.”
In closing, Brown has a message for Massachusetts voters who want to see a victory on Election Day. “Do not wake up on November 9 and say, ‘Gosh, I should have done more.’ I’m asking you to get out, make a difference, and vote for Geoff Diehl for Governor.”
Scott Brown is well-known to Massachusetts voters, having won a special election for United States Senate against then-Attorney General Martha Coakley in 2010. He subsequently served as United States Ambassador to New Zealand and the Independent State of Samoa. Earlier in his career, Brown served as member of the Massachusetts Legislature.
Geoff Diehl is the Republican party’s nominee for Governor of Massachusetts. His running mate is Leah Allen, candidate for Lieutenant Governor. More information about the ticket is available online at www.DiehlAllen.com.
