Today, Governor Jared Polis announced that the West side of the State Capitol will be illuminated in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, starting at sundown today. This is the most recent of a series of steps the Polis Administration has taken in solidarity with the people of free and independent Ukraine, and to penalize the Russian government, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“Colorado stands with Ukrainians here and abroad. We know that freedom, democracy, and independence are a light unto the world and we are proud to cast the colors of the Ukrainian flag across our own State Capitol as we continue to support and pray for the brave people of Ukraine during this dark time,” said Governor Polis.

The Capitol lights will feature the colors of the Ukrainian flag starting at sundown tonight, and will remain in the colors of the Ukrainian flag for one week.
