Senator Maggie Hassan yesterday attended the Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity’s 15th Key Ceremony, which celebrated a new duplex built for two military veterans. Senator Hassan delivered remarks and thanked volunteers who helped make this project possible. The duplex is in honor of Roger Hall, a longtime volunteer of Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity who passed away in 2018.
“I was honored to participate in the Key Ceremony, where we recognized the hard work and dedication of Granite State volunteers and celebrated the important work that the Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity has done for years in our state,” said Senator Hassan. “I really appreciate that these homes are going to two incredibly deserving individuals who have bravely served our country and have made immense sacrifices to keep us safe, secure, and free. It is inspiring to see that so many Granite Staters could come together to make this project possible.”
Senator Hassan, a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, is working to strengthen support for veterans. For example, earlier this month, the President signed into law Senator Hassan and colleagues’ historic, bipartisan military toxic exposure bill. The President also signed into law Senator Hassan and colleagues’ Hire Veteran Health Heroes Act of 2021 to direct the VA to create a program to recruit military medical personnel who have less than one year left in their service to work in federal health care occupations at the VA.
