Congressman Steve Chabot’s campaign released the following statement on Greg Landsman’s interview with Spectrum News that aired Wednesday.

“Former Nancy Pelosi staffer Greg Landsman has once again demonstrated that his priorities are staggeringly out-of-touch with the concerns and priorities of First District voters,” said Chabot campaign manager John Gomez. “During the interview, Landsman said he wouldn’t place the economy or rising costs in his top three issues, proving yet again his complete disregard for the most pressing challenges facing hardworking families and small businesses in First District communities.”

“Landsman’s lack of interest in improving the economy or addressing out-of-control inflation fits perfectly in line with his record of supporting tax hikes that increase the burden on families and small businesses and unbridled support for his former boss Nancy Pelosi and her extreme tax-and-spend agenda in Washington,” Gomez continued. “In addition, Landsman tried to mislead voters on his support for defunding the police. Landsman claimed to have a ‘perfect’ record on law enforcement during the interview but failed to mention that he wrote and championed a proposal on the City Council that WLWT called the ‘definition’ of defunding the police.”

“Landsman also dodged responsibility for his central role in the ‘Gang of 5’ scandal that cost taxpayers $170,000,” Gomez added. “If Landsman took full accountability for his role in the scandal, he would have abided by the recommendation of a Hamilton County Judge that he resign and never run for public office again.”
