Congressman Steve Chabot’s campaign released the following statement following the first televised debate of the race for Congress in Ohio’s First Congressional District on WLWT Channel Five.
“Steve Chabot highlighted the fundamental contrast in the race for Congress tonight between his record of delivering results for hardworking families and small businesses and his opponent’s support for a disastrous tax-hiking, inflation-fueling, crime-raising agenda,” said Chabot campaign manager John Gomez. “Just like Steve said tonight, southwest Ohio families deserve to be able to afford their groceries and walk down the street in their neighborhood without fearing violent crime.”
“Former Pelosi staffer Greg Landsman voted to raise taxes on families and small businesses eight times on the Cincinnati City Council, he called for an increase to the county sales tax, he voted to increase property taxes, he supported his former boss Pelosi’s most recent tax hike during a recession and her tax-and-spend policies that created 40-year-high inflation, and he wrote the plan to defund the police,” Gomez continued.
“Southwest Ohio families who deserve relief from out-of-control inflation and rising costs and safe neighborhoods simply cannot afford Greg Landsman in Congress.
