Congressman Steve Chabot’s campaign released the following statement following the second televised debate of the race for Congress in Ohio’s First Congressional District hosted by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce, CET-TV and WVXU.
“Greg Landsman learned his values working for Nancy Pelosi and that was evident in tonight’s debate as he doubled-down on his support for the extreme tax-and-spend agenda of his former boss that caused inflation to hit a 40-year-high and refused to answer for his record of repeatedly hiking taxes on families and small businesses on the Cincinnati City Council,” said Chabot campaign manager John Gomez.
“Landsman was on the defensive throughout the night for his out-of-touch policies that include trying to defund the police amid record homicides in the City of Cincinnati and record of consistently increasing the burden on families.”“Landsman even incredulously claimed he ‘of course’ pays his taxes and it would be ‘absurd’ to suggest otherwise when he was slapped with a judgement by the State of Ohio earlier this year for unpaid taxes,” Gomez continued. “Landsman supports higher taxes for hardworking families and small businesses — but failed to pay his own taxes. He’s the wrong choice for families who care about the economy.
