U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) released the following statement on the Executive Order announced today that takes steps to mitigate the impact of the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade:
“By overturning Roe, the Supreme Court took away a woman’s autonomy and ability to make her own health care decisions. The administration’s actions announced today are welcome steps to mitigate the impact of this decision. We also know that in the aftermath of the decision, Mitch McConnell and anti-choice extremists’ ultimate objective is to ban abortion nationwide — we must hold the line against this and keep fighting to protect a woman’s fundamental freedom.”
