WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA is awarding an additional $30,435,275.48 in Public Assistance reimbursements for hurricane recovery efforts in Southwest Louisiana.
The funding is made available through the major disaster declaration for Hurricane Laura (DR-4559-LA), which Congressman Higgins supported.
The reimbursements include:
- $10,127,216.70 for repairs to the McNeese State University Cowboy Stadium Press Box in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share and authorized under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.
- $11,117,120.00 for repairs to seven buildings on the McNeese State University campus in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share and authorized under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.
- $6,299,942.40 to the Jeff Davis Electric Co-Op for electric distribution repairs as a result of Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share and authorized under Section 428 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.
- $2,890,996.38 to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 100% federal cost-share and authorized under Section 428 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

These latest reimbursements will provide additional support for recovery efforts, and my office will continue to work with our local, state, and federal partners to resolve outstanding issues with FEMA.
