Congressman John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (D-IL), co-chairs of the Congressional Chemistry Caucus, have introduced a resolution to recognize October 16-22 as National Chemistry Week.“Chemistry benefits every American with new innovations in science, medicine, and the household goods we use every day. Chemistry is a key part of the economy, employing Americans with good-paying jobs and helping ensure our country leads the world for years to come. National Chemistry Week is a celebration of how chemistry makes the world a better place and it encourages talented students to look at careers in science,” said Moolenaar.

“From the development of the mRNA vaccine to making biofuel production more efficient, the impact chemistry can have on our day-to-day lives is limitless. That’s why, as scientific advancements in chemistry continue to propel our nation and world forward, I’m proud to recognize National Chemistry Week and the critical role that chemistry plays in every industry and economy,” said Bustos.
