From March  7, 2022 post.

U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) issued the below statement following the passing of Democratic House Leader Representative Renny Cushing:

“Tom and I are heartbroken to hear the news of Renny’s passing. He was, simply put, a wonderful person, and dedicated to making our world a better place. And he did, making a true and positive difference for people in every corner of our state.

“Renny served his community and New Hampshire up to his very last days, and he always led by example. He showed us that an individual’s voice matters, and the importance of bringing our lived experience into our advocacy. This made him not only an effective leader but also a dear friend to me and many, many others. Renny’s generous spirit infused everything he did — bringing an easy smile to the faces of those around him, and creating consensus and goodwill even in the face of spirited disagreements.

“Renny understood the challenges that our state and country faced, but even in tough times he found ways to appreciate people, envision a better future, and bring out the best in those around him. His attitude, his work, and his very presence were a blessing and an inspiration. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Kristie and daughters Marie, Elizabeth, and Grace as we all mourn his loss.”
