From September 21, 2022 post.

Charlie Crist, candidate for governor of Florida, slammed Gov. DeSantis today for not only raising taxes on Floridians by $1 billion, but for failing to address the worsening affordability crisis plaguing everyday Floridians with skyrocketing property insurance, rents through the roof, and unchecked utility rate hikes. Instead, DeSantis has rolled out a purely political tax proposal that fails to address the real issues.

“DeSantis has failed to address Florida’s worsening affordability crisis — Floridians can’t afford the DeSanTAX,” said Charlie Crist. “People are feeling the squeeze on everything from rising property insurance rates, the highest in the nation, to skyrocketing rent and utility costs. A tax break on toys is nice, but people need to be able to afford to keep a roof over their head.”

Months ago Charlie Crist unveiled his “Affordable Florida for All” agenda, a plan to cut Floridians property insurance costs, address the housing affordability crisis, and halt utility company price-gouging across the state.
