U.S. Representative Darren Soto endorsed Charlie Crist for Governor of Florida today as the campaign unveiled its “Boricuas Con Crist” plan.
The “Boricuas Con Crist” plan is Charlie’s agenda to improve the quality of life for Boricuas and all Floridians by:
- Instituting a Good Neighbor Policy to look out for Puerto Rico, not just in friendship and economic cooperation, but in disaster relief as well;
- Creating the Office of New Floridians to help the more than 900 people moving to Florida every day navigate their new home;
- Working to make Florida More Affordable following the skyrocketing property insurance, rent, and utility bills under Governor DeSantis;
- Protecting Reproductive Freedom by signing an Executive Order on Day 1 protecting a woman’s right to choose;
- Promoting Affordable, Accessible Healthcare by vowing to veto any budget that does not expand Medicaid; and,
- Protecting Freedom to Learn across the Sunshine State by keeping politics out of the classroom and raising teacher pay.
“I’m proud to endorse Charlie Crist to be the next governor of Florida,” said Rep. Darren Soto. “Boricua Floridians need a leader in the governor’s office that truly has their back and will fight for their well-being every single day — Charlie will be that governor.”
Following Hurricane Fiona, Crist was on the ground in Puerto Rico to witness the destruction firsthand and reiterate his belief that Florida must be a good neighbor to our Puerto Rican friends when tragedy strikes.
