Non-partisan Veterans Group Backs Crist as Best Candidate to Combat National Security Threat of Climate Change 

Today, Charlie Crist’s campaign for governor of Florida announced that the Florida Veterans for Common Sense (FLVCS), a nonpartisan organization, which rarely endorses candidates, is backing Charlie Crist to be the next governor of Florida. 

Florida Veterans for Common Sense is endorsing Crist citing both his support for democracy and focus on addressing the climate crisis facing our state.

“I’m incredibly honored to earn the endorsement of the Florida Veterans for Common Sense as we build a Florida that truly works for and supports all of us,” said Charlie Crist. “In Florida, we know protecting our environment keeps our communities and our economy safe and strong. As governor, I will fight climate change, protect Florida’s economy and environment, and keep our Florida a beautiful and safe place to live.” 

“We need to elect a governor in Florida who will act responsibly to address climate change,
which is a national security threat as confirmed by the Pentagon,” said Gene Jones, president of FLVCS.

Florida Veterans for Common Sense endorsement comes as Crist vows to lower power bills while transitioning to clean, cheaper energy. Charlie has also unveiled plans to expand rooftop solar and fight for clean water for all.
