Today, with abortion rights on the line, Charlie Crist and his campaign for governor of Florida wrapped up their first statewide Choice Day of Action to fire up and mobilize voters across the state against Ron DeSantis’s anti-choice agenda. In the morning, Crist held a press conference slamming DeSantis’s extremist, anti-women, anti-choice attacks while vowing to protect women’s rights to safe and legal abortions, alongside Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Commissioner Nancy Metayer, and Ruth’s List Board Chair Emma Collum.

In the afternoon, Crist joined Planned Parenthood and the Founder of the Presidential Women’s Center, Mona Reis, in West Palm Beach as they called for action to protect reproductive rights in the state of Florida.

And in the evening, Crist was joined by his running mate, Karla Hernández, for a Latinas for Choice Rally in Little Havana taking the fight to DeSantis alongside grassroots supporters and local community leaders.

Across the state in North Florida, Donna Deegan, candidate for Mayor of Jacksonville, State Senator Audrey Gibson and candidate for Mayor of Jacksonville, and LaKeisha Burton, candidate for Sheriff of Jacksonville, hosted a sign waving event joined by local Jacksonville residents to show their support for Crist.

In Central Florida, Representative Joy Goff-Marcil hosted a Choice Day of Action phonebank, joined by local leaders and community residents in Lake Mary, to reach out to voters and urge them to vote for Crist as the only pro-choice candidate on the ballot for governor of Florida.

In St. Petersburg, Councilwoman Deborah Figgs-Sanders, Congresswoman Kathy Castor, and Eunic Ortiz, Candidate for State Senate, held a press conference condemning DeSantis’s attacks on women and highlighting Crist’s pro-choice background.

Alongside the Choice Day of Action, Crist’s campaign unveiled a new television ad, running in media markets across the state, featuring medical professionals blasting DeSantis for inserting himself into women’s healthcare decisions with his abortion ban while criminalizing doctors and nurses for offering care.

Crist’s campaign also released a new digital ad titled “It’s Up to Us,” holding Ron DeSantis accountable for his disgusting abortion ban that includes no exceptions for victims of rape or incest. The Crist campaign further called out Ron DeSantis’s refusal to defend his own abortion ban on social media.

And earlier today, NARAL Pro-Choice America announced their endorsement of Charlie Crist to be the next governor of Florida in the fight to protect women’s rights from Ron DeSantis’s radical anti-choice agenda.
