From September 28, 2022 post.

Today, Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03) announced that her office has returned $7,514,178 in fiscal year 2022 to tax payers in Iowa’s Third Congressional District through her office’s constituent casework program.

Rep. Axne’s office helps constituents navigate issues with the IRS, Social Security and other federal offices and has already closed more than 730 cases brought forward by people in Iowa’s Third Congressional District since last October.

“Saving Iowans money has always been a top priority of mine, so I am pleased to announce that my office has already returned more than $7.5 million to tax payers in Iowa’s Third Congressional District this fiscal year,” said Rep. Axne. “This is money that belongs to taxpayers and my office fought to make sure it was returned in a timely manner. Anyone in Iowa’s third district who is having an issue with any federal agency or needs help with paperwork can contact my office for assistance.”

Here are some examples of what constituents are saying about Rep. Axne’s work:

“After I retired from the USDA, I had trouble receiving my due retirement pension from OPM. I asked for Rep. Axne’s help and her team not only identified the issue, but worked with OPM to fix it so my full pension payments are coming in. Thank you, Rep. Axne!” said Dixie, of Winterset.

“When it was time for me to retire, I applied for Social Security benefits but it was pending for months. I asked for Rep. Axne’s help securing my retirement benefits, and less than a week later my application was processed,” said Joanne, of St. Charles.

“Medicare sent me a bill that I knew was in error but I was having no success resolving the case on my own. Working with Rep. Axne’s office, we were able to swiftly resolve the outstanding error and eliminate the balance. Thank you for making things right with my Medicare!” said Steve J., of Pleasant Hill.
