CLEVELAND – On Tuesday, Nina Turner aired her latest attack ad falsely vilifying Congresswoman Brown in an all-too-familiar attempt to tear down a Democrat. In the final days of this primary, Turner is once again on TV with solely negative advertising trying to salvage her flailing campaign by falsely attacking Congresswoman Brown. Campaign manager Darryle Torbert released the following statement:
“Unfortunately, Nina Turner’s campaign is using familiar injurious tactics days before the election to gain footing in a lopsided race. The false, negative ad is merely a distraction from the fact that Turner has repeatedly campaigned against and outwardly criticized President Biden and has no plans to work with him to improve conditions for the people of OH-11.”
“The truth is that Congresswoman Shontel Brown has a long history of favoring raising the minimum wage and has never been under an ethics investigation. Nina Turner knows what she is saying is false because when she first told this lie, news outlets discredited her accusation.”
“In fact, in less than six months, Congresswoman Brown has delivered on her promises to the district – to work with President Biden to deliver a comprehensive recovery from COVID and champion quality, accessible health care for all. She has spent her time in Congress building coalitions as a member of the NewDems, Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Congressional Black Caucus, and voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will bring historic funding to the state and residents of OH-11. She hit the ground running once she was elected and has not looked back.”
