The Colorado Democrats hosted a celebratory statewide bus tour kickoff event yesterday to rally supporters and bolster momentum before voters receive their ballots.
DENVER — Yesterday ballots were mailed out to Colorado’s 3.7 million registered voters, and with only 20 days left until Election Day, Colorado Democrats are doing what they can to engage with voters and build support for fellow Democrats running in key races.
Last night, Sen. Michael Bennet, Sen. John Hickenlooper, Gov. Jared Polis, Rep. Joe Neguse, Rep. Jason Crow, State Rep. Yadira Caraveo, and Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera joined together for an event where they each spoke to Coloradans about the upcoming election as the kickoff to the Colorado Democratic Party’s “Moving Colorado Forward” statewide bus tour.
THE “MOVING COLORADO FORWARD” BUS WAS SITUATED IN THE BACKDROP FOR THE EVENT.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event, held at an outdoor venue located in the center of Colorado’s newly formed Congressional District 8. Attendees were welcomed with free food and drinks, lively music, and a kids entertainer for families with children. Ballots were mailed out yesterday and will start landing in mailboxes over the next few days, making this event the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of the upcoming midterm election.
MICHAEL ENERGETICALLY SPEAKS TO THE CROWD ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING INVOLVED AND SUPPORTING DEMOCRATS THIS NOVEMBER.
“Between now and Election Day, Michael’s campaign will be crisscrossing the state to engage with voters and rally support for Democrats up and down the ticket,” explains Bennet for Colorado spokesperson Georgina Beven. “From passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to passing the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Gun Safety Bill, Democrats have made meaningful progress over the past two years and we have to do everything we can to bolster support for Democrats so they can continue their work delivering for hard-working families.”
While Michael was in Colorado on the day ballots were sent to voters, his opponent, Joe O’Dea, was fundraising with former President George W. Bush in Texas instead of meeting Coloradans where they’re at.
In a post on Twitter, Bennet for Colorado Campaign Manager Justin Lamorte wrote “Hundreds turned out to the kickoff for the Colorado Dems bus tour in Adams County tonight. While O’Dea fled Colorado to campaign in Texas, Michael Bennet fired up the crowd to reject Trumpism, and make Colorado first in the nation in voter turnout.”
With three weeks remaining until election day, Michael and his campaign are still taking nothing for granted in this election and will be doing everything possible to ensure that when Coloradans go to vote, they will know about Michael’s strong record delivering for them.
